Importance of Membership :
Religious & Cultural Identity
1. Confirms your connection to the teachings of Harichand Thakur and Guruchand Thakur.
2. Allows participation in Matua rituals, festivals, and events (like Baruni Mela at Thakurnagar).
3. Helps preserve community traditions, values, and unity.
Social Community Support
1. Acts as proof of belonging to the Matua community.
2. Helps families receive support during social, religious, or community programs.
3. Useful in resolving local community matters through Matua leaders or organisations.
Support Citizenship Processes
1. Support Indian citizenship applications (CAA-related facilitation).

3. While not a legal citizenship proof, it helps establish community and refugee background

1. Matua membership is not mandatory by law.
2. It is not the same as Indian citizenship.
3. But it is socially and practically very helpful, especially in West Bengal border districts.

অল ইন্ডিয়া মাতুয়া সংঘ, ঠাকুরনগর (ESTD 2019) একটি সামাজিক ও ধর্মীয় সংগঠন। শ্রী শ্রী হরিচাঁদ ঠাকুর ও শ্রী শ্রী গুরুচাঁদ ঠাকুরের আদর্শে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়ে সংঘ মাতুয়া সম্প্রদায়ের ঐক্য, সংস্কৃতি, মানবিক মূল্যবোধ ও সমাজকল্যাণমূলক কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করে। সংগঠনটি ধর্মীয় অনুষ্ঠান, সামাজিক সচেতনতা ও সহায়তামূলক কর্মসূচির মাধ্যমে সমাজগঠনে কাজ করে।
২️. লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য (Aims & Objectives) :
১️. মাতুয়া ধর্ম ও সংস্কৃতির প্রচার ও প্রসার করা।
২️ শ্রী শ্রী হরিচাঁদ ঠাকুর ও শ্রী শ্রী গুরুচাঁদ ঠাকুরের মানবতাবাদী আদর্শ সমাজে প্রতিষ্ঠা করা।
৩️.মাতুয়া সম্প্রদায়ের সামাজিক ঐক্য ও ভ্রাতৃত্ব সুদৃঢ় করা।
৪️. শিক্ষা, সংস্কৃতি ও নৈতিক মূল্যবোধের বিকাশে কাজ করা।
৫️. দরিদ্র, অসহায় ও প্রান্তিক মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়ানো।

Matua leaders and organisations demanded:
* No voter deletion without proper hearing.
* Protection of long-time voters.
* Special care for refugee families.
* Many members asked for clarity and assurance.
Key Point to Remember :
* SIR is about voter verification, not automatically about citizenship.
* But for Matuas, voting rights are closely tied to identity and dignity, so the issue became sensitive.

অল ইন্ডিয়া মতুয়া সংঘ (All India Matua Mahasangha) পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ও বাংলাদেশে বসবাসকারী মতুয়া সম্প্রদায়ের প্রধান ধর্মীয় ও সামাজিক সংগঠন। শ্রী শ্রী হরিচাঁদ ঠাকুর ও গুরুচাঁদ ঠাকুর-এর আদর্শে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়ে এই সংগঠন সমাজের অবহেলিত মানুষের মর্যাদা ও অধিকার রক্ষায় কাজ করে।
১. সামাজিক সংস্কার ও জাতপাত বিরোধী আন্দোলন
উত্থান:দলিত ও নমঃশূদ্র সম্প্রদায়ের সামাজিক মর্যাদা প্রতিষ্ঠায় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা। সামাজিক সাম্য: বর্ণপ্রথার বিরোধিতা করে আত্মমর্যাদা ও স্বনির্ভরতা গড়ে তোলা।
২. শিক্ষা ও অর্থনৈতিক উন্নযন<>
দরিদ্র মানুষের জন্য শিক্ষা প্রসার এবং সামাজিক উন্নয়নে কাজ। ঠাকুরনগরে Harichand Guruchand University স্থাপনের উদ্যোগ। চিকিৎসা, খাদ্য ও পোশাক সহায়তার মাধ্যমে সমাজসেবা।
৩. রাজনৈতিক প্রভাব
ভোট ব্যাংক: পশ্চিমবঙ্গের প্রায় ৪০–৫০টি বিধানসভা কেন্দ্রে মতুয়া সম্প্রদায়ের প্রভাব। নাগরিকত্ব (CAA): উদ্বাস্তু মতুয়াদের নাগরিকত্ব দাবি একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ইস্যু।
৪. ধর্মীয় ও সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্য
প্রতি বছর ঠাকুরনগরে বৃহৎ মতুয়া ধর্মীয় মেলা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। দর্শন: “হাতে কাম ও মুখে নাম” — কর্মে বিশ্বাস ও ঈশ্বর স্মরণ।
